Overview

Saturday 10 May, 10am to 2pm (with lunch together 1pm-2pm), Sharpham Woodland Campsite kitchen

Join us at the beautiful Sharpham estate for a morning of mindfulness for kids and adults.

Through meditation, play and other activities we’ll explore how mindfulness can help us be more present and joyful to our lives.

Whether you and your family have a long term meditation practice or you are curious to develop one, you can join two of our retreat leaders (who are also parents) to learn and practice mindfulness together.

This event is for children, age up to 12.

We will split into 3 groups for part of the morning

  • a group of adults only;
  • a group of children only (age 6 - 12)
  • a group of adults with their younger children (age 6 or younger) that don't want to leave them

Adults will explore meditation and mindful parenting; there will be activities for children to experience mindfulness through play and nature connection; the group of adults with younger children will also explore mindfulness through play and nature connection. Subsequently, there will be an opportunity to come together to experience mindfulness as a whole group.

There will also be a shared vegan and gluten-free soup provided at lunchtime, alongside your packed lunch.

There are toilets and running water and drinking water is available on site.

Family Mindfulness

This day is for you if you:

  • Want to deepen or develop a family mindfulness practice
  • Are a parent who wants to learn more about mindful parenting
  • Want to be more present and aware to the joy in (family) life

What should you bring?

  • Drinks and biscuits are provided but please bring further drinks and snacks for the children if needed
  • Packed lunch for everyone in your group, to have with the shared vegan soup that will be provided free, as part of the event.
  • Waterproofs and layers
  • Good comfy outdoor shoes or wellies - we'll be in a woodland with compacted mud footpaths
  • Water
  • Insect repellent if you wish
  • We advise that you wear long trousers to avoid scratches, cuts and possible ticks

Schedule

This event takes place on Saturday 10 May, from 10am to 2pm, with lunch 1pm - 2pm. Please bring a packed lunch.

Meet at 10am in our Woodland Campsite after parking in the campsite car park.

We will then have a lunch together at 1pm as the whole group at the end of the morning session to have some connective time in a non-facilitated way.

We will offer vegan soup alongside your own packed lunches, for ease of dietary requirements.
