Overview

The Retreat at Home is really special - and very different from other online offerings...the retreat gave me a holding space to share compassion and vulnerability, while drawing strength from other people across the country (and the world!) - online retreatant

If you're looking for some self-compassion and to take care of yourself virtually, you can experience the same Sharpham care, values and community support via our Retreats at Home.

Our online retreats are firmly grounded in the principles of mindfulness, meditation, community and nature connection that we’ve been fostering for the last 40 years.

This 2-day Retreat at Home can help support and nourish you as you face new challenges and uncertainties. This mindfulness retreat offers support from experienced meditators. You'll be held in supportive community, connecting with each other and sharing experiences.

"Only through our connectedness to others can we really know and enhance the self. And only through working on the self can we begin to enhance our connectedness to others
                                                                                             - Harriet Lerner

There will be a maximum of 15 people on this retreat with opportunities for smaller group sharing.

The retreat will take place online using the platform Zoom (see further information below to ensure you have the minimum tech requirements). We'll send out guidance for using Zoom when you book and a guide to getting the best out of your Retreat at Home.

This retreat is for you if:

  • you want to connect with a community of like-minded people
  • have your voice heard in a supporting and nurturing environment
  • deepen your practice at home
  • are aged 18 or over
What is Mindfulness?

Schedule

To get the most out of this retreat you will need a room in your home where you will not be distracted by other people and which can serve as a confidential space.

To join you will need to be fully available for the duration of the retreat (this helps create a greater sense of group coherence with less distraction for your fellow retreatants). This is a small group retreat with the expectation that you will attend from the start to the end.

The weekend retreat will run from 5.30pm on Friday evening to 5.15pm on Sunday evening. Click here for the schedule,

I joined a one-day mindfulness retreat and it was so nourishing and beneficial. We all felt really held in the space, and the community was wonderful. It was - I'm sure - down to the expertise of Patti, Will & Ethan to put us at ease to such an extent that we could be honest, and free with our thoughts and discussions.

I went into the experience feeling very unhappy mindfully, and came away with head-space and clarity.

The timetable was perfectly planned and the dharma talk very insightful. I can't thank you all enough for this beautiful day to rest, restore and reset both the nervous system and the mind. I can't wait for the next one.

At the weekend I attended the 1 day retreat at home. It was a beautiful experience and Barry held the group with loving care. It was on zoom but it didn’t stop me feeling connected to others in the group. I intend to do this retreat again, as well as one at Sharpham soon. Thanks Sharpham

I attended an online day retreat. It was my first time doing something like this, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Everyone was very welcoming, there was a really positive atmosphere throughout the whole day. Thank you 🙏 so much to all involved, and I look forward to doing another retreat in the future.
