Orchard Link launch

We were the venue for the launch of a new project to revitalise community orchards in South Devon.

Orchard Link has secured a grant of £40,500 from The Heritage Lottery Fund for the project, which will also support and sustain the groups looking after them.

The project was launched in the South Wing of Sharpham House, and guests toured our own orchards, guided by our gardener Jesse Hammond.

Orchard Link is working with the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Unit to deliver the two-year project and around 20 orchard groups across the area have expressed interest in participating. Orchards range from 20 to over 100 years old and are all managed by community volunteers.
